Greetings, my fellow Senators.

It has been nearly two years since the reunion and so I figured I would update everyone on what has been going on with me.

First off I am no longer with Hustler. Shortly after the reunion I decided that I wanted a career that had a bit of morality to it. Although the money was good I found that I did not like the person I was becoming by working in that environment. I substitute taught for a while and then managed to land a pretty decent job.

I am now the volunteer coordinator for the Student Leadership Development Program at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. I work with college students and find them service learning opportunities within the Metro-East area. I am also administering a $50,000 AmeriCorps grant that will give 50 students a $1,000 educational award. The work is a challenge but I am doing a lot of networking with local governments and social service organizations. Most importantly I feel good about what I do for a living. I look forward to going to work each day and that is what I have wanted for years.

On the home front, those of you who attended the reunion will remember my partner David. Well, we are still together and will celebrate our third anniversary in February. We live in Belleville in a modest little apartment and enjoy our status as DINKs. David graduated from McKendree College in 2004 with his BS in computer science. He quickly learned that a computer science degree is pretty much not worth the paper it is printed on unless you have certifications to go with it. He went to a training center and got a number of certificates and now works under contract at AG Edwards in St. Louis.

No kids yet. If David and I ever decide to become parents we will yet the list know. As for now we have enough challenges just fostering a dog and cat.

I hope everyone else in the class is doing well. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
